It all started with a favour for a friend
More than ten years ago, a French friend from college, whose family owns a winery where they grow grapes and produce their own wines, asked me a simple favour.
He wanted to introduce premium Taiwanese tea alongside his family's wines, offering his customers a carefully curated selection of exceptional beverages. He wondered if I could help him find truly outstanding teas from Taiwan.
The truth was...
I knew almost nothing about tea.
What started as a favour soon became an unforgettable journey.

Learning Tea from the Ground Up
To learn more, I travelled across Taiwan, visiting tea-growing regions, meeting tea farmers and tea masters, reading books, attending tea exhibitions and tasting hundreds of teas.
At first, I couldn't tell the difference between an ordinary tea and an exceptional one. There were days when I tasted so many teas that my palate became completely exhausted. Looking back, those long days of tasting teas of every quality became some of my greatest lessons.

A Journey rooted in people
Over time, I realised that the greatest lessons did not come from books, but from the generous tea farmers and tea masters who patiently shared their knowledge with me. They welcomed me into their tea gardens, taught me every step of tea making, and showed me how to appreciate the aroma, flavour and character of truly exceptional tea.
Some of these relationships have now lasted for more than ten years. The tea farmers and tea masters who once taught me have become trusted mentors, close friends and valued partners. Even today, we continue to work closely together, sharing knowledge, exploring new harvests and selecting only the finest teas.
During that journey, I also discovered something that fascinated me even more; wild and semi-wild tea.
Unlike plantation tea, these teas are produced only in very limited quantities each year. Their unique character, natural growing environment and remarkable flavour left a lasting impression on me.
What began as helping a friend gradually became a business supplying carefully selected Taiwanese tea to customers across Europe.

Every Tea is Personal Selected
Today, every tea offered by Wild Tea Garden is still personally selected and tasted by me before it reaches our customers. Only teas that I would proudly serve to my own family and friends become part of our collection.
Rather than offering hundreds of different teas, we focus on a carefully curated collection of exceptional Taiwanese teas—many of them rare, limited-harvest, wild or semi-wild teas that are difficult to find even within Taiwan.

Beyond a single cup of tea
Behind every tea is a farmer, a family and years of dedication.
Our hope is to share not only remarkable tea, but also the people, traditions and craftsmanship that make every cup so special.
What began as a favour for one friend has become a journey of sharing exceptional Taiwanese tea with tea lovers around the world.
Today, we are honoured to continue that journey with tea lovers in Japan.
